PSE (Personal & Social Education)
Personal and Social Education (PSE) provides pupils with the skills and knowledge to navigate life in school and beyond. Our curriculum is built around four key areas: Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing; Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood; Substance Misuse; and Planning for Choices and Change. Alongside these key areas, we address local and national issues that are causing concern for our young people or our communities when they arise. Our focus is on empowering pupils to make the right decisions that will enable them to live healthy, safe and fulfilling lives.
We work closely with a number of partner agencies, such as Skills Development Scotland, Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (Perth), and The Lighthouse, to ensure pupils are well-informed on their rights and the supports available locally. Our pupils’ wellbeing is at the centre of our curriculum, and we provide regular opportunities for pupils to give feedback and suggestions so we can tailor learning to suit their needs.
