Please note that the following support arrangements are in place within the Maths department and will run until the SQA exam diet.
The Maths Wiki remains the best place to access additional practice papers and questions, with solutions being posted on the page in the following week.
Click here to be directed the Wiki.
All National 5 sets are currently receiving 2 pieces of homework per week, targeting specific areas of the N5 course. The homeworks are being posted on a dedicated Wiki: http://panational5.wikispaces.com
Teachers will be picking up issues arising with these tasks as they are tackled and solutions will be posted up on the website the following week.
We are expecting all N5 candidates to participate in these tasks and will be trialling the use of the GroupCall text messaging system to communicate with parents where students are not meeting this expectation.
Sharing of study resources
Teachers have been encouraging students to bring a pen drive into school to receive an electronic Maths revision pack to take away. Some students have taken advantage of this resource. Students should approach their class teacher with a pen drive in the first instance.
The Maths department are running supported study classes after school on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school. This arrangement is on a voluntary basis and the staff delivering support on any given day is subject to change based on availability of staff. The aim of the sessions is to support students with any specific and identified problem or area requiring some additional focus. Students who report to the department on these days to work through a specific aspect of their coursework will be most welcome.
Students who wish to receive some additional support and make use of this terrific opportunity should speak to their own teacher in the first instance.
