How can I get help to make good career choices?
There is plenty of information on the My World of Work website, including help with subject choice, identifying your strengths, finding out about different career opportunities and help with making a CV. There is information on degree courses available at UK universities, college courses in Scotland and a live link to Jobcentre vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities.
How do I get to see my careers adviser in school?
Your careers adviser, Jane Clark is in school on Thursdays and Fridays in Room 33a. You can come and speak to her any Thursday lunchtime without an appointment – just call in. If you need some extra help, you can make an appointment through your guidance teacher, by e-mailing email@example.com or phoning/texting 07899918062. Look out for your name in the Information Sheet and come along to Room 33a at the time stated. Your parents/carers are welcome too.
Can I get advice and help when the school is closed, or after I leave school?
There are advisers available in the Skills Development Scotland Centre in Highland House, St Catherine’s Road, Perth PH1 5RY. This centre is open during office hours and you can phone 01738 637639 to speak to an adviser, or make an appointment.
There is also a live chat option on www.myworldofwork.co.uk where you can speak to an adviser, Monday – Friday 9-5.
